Beat Burnout
Feeling overwhelmed and exhausted from long work hours, a packed schedule, and mounting stress levels? If this sounds like you, you might be experiencing burnout.
Before you plop down on the couch to watch TV. Hold on.
Research suggests that exercise is the best way to reduce burnout. Yep, better than TV.
Next time you need a reset, take 20-30 minutes and move. If working out seems too daunting, get outside for a walk. A little fresh air always does a person good.
And remember to focus on the things you can control. Take time to move even a little movement can make a big difference. And if you're struggling, reach out to someone you trust for support.
P.S. In this open journal, we talk about burnout specifically related to exercise.

Q: Hi there. I was wondering, are there any specific exercises that target areas prone to weight gain (stomach and arms) as one ages?
A: Great question. Unfortunately, spot treating is not a thing. You aren’t able to choose where you lose weight. It would be nice if you could, wouldn’t it? Instead, focus on building strength through strength training. Remember strength training can be done with weights, resistance bands, or body weight. I highly recommend reading the truth about toning in this bite.
