Wake up and smell the mycotoxins

I freaking love coffee and I mean LOVE IT!

There's nothing better than a fresh cup of coffee early in the morning (before anyone else is awake). But did you know that your coffee might be full of mold?

And no, I'm not talking about your coffee pot. Turns out that buying organic coffee might not be enough. Even organic coffee can contain mycotoxins.

Mycotoxins are what mold produces. Typically it’s a result of farming, storing, processing, or transport practices.

Here are some things to look for when searching for a clean coffee:

  • USDA Certified Organic

  • Mold-free

  • Mycotoxin-free

  • Farmed at High altitude

  • Rainforest Alliance Certified

There are a lot of good companies out there making a difference, but I think Purity coffee is the way to go.

Q: Should I focus on losing weight before gaining muscle or vice versa?

A: I love this question because you don’t have to choose one or the other. It’s called body recomposition. This is where you focus on losing weight and gaining muscle at the same time. We talked about it more in-depth here.

Did You Know? Like Really Know…

Exercising as a family has tons of benefits.

This is where I get most of my cardio in. Sometimes (ok, most of the time) it turns into a shit show with a toddler wanting to ride scooter like her big bro and big bro trying to take over the stroller. But it’s all for the memories right?

Here are some proven benefits of being active as a family:

  • Improved communication: By engaging in physical activities together, families strengthen their relationships and promote better communication skills.

  • Bonding: Shared activities like hiking, playing sports, or walking improve the sense of togetherness and create lasting memories.

Regular exercise as a family promotes a healthy lifestyle and establishes lifelong habits. So take your family out for a walk tonight!

Tidbits & Recipes:

My two worlds collided with this morning hash recipe. I love Brussels sprouts (I’m the crazy lady bringing them to the family get together) and I love breakfast so this is a win-win.

Brussels sprouts are packed with nutrients like vitamins C and K, fiber, and antioxidants, which help with digestion and immune health-need all the immune health right now!
