Gut Health 101: Back to Basics Approach
In high school, I had the worst stomach aches. I mean, they would leave me rolled up in a ball on the library floor until the next period.
I was miserable. So I decided to do something about it and take my gut health seriously. It was life changing - literally.
If this sounds familiar, you might want to check in with your gut health. Your gut microbiome can affect your overall well-being in a big way.
If you want to improve your gut health, bring it back to the basics and try a holistic approach.
Focus on:
Sleep: Aim for 7-8 hours per night to support your gut microbiome.
Bedtime routine: Establish a regular sleep schedule.
Exercise: Regular physical activity can improve your gut microbiome.
Nutrition: Increase your fiber, and consume pro and prebiotic-rich foods.
Start here and give it a few weeks to start noticing the changes. Taking care of your gut doesn't have to be complicated.

Q: Could you discuss heavily processed foods? I think there needs to be more education on that topic.
A: Absolutely! It's no surprise that America is grappling with an obesity problem, considering how addictive this type of food can be. When you factor in our busy lifestyles, tight budgets, and the sheer convenience of getting our hands on it, it's hard to resist.
Plus, heavily processed food often lacks essential nutrients, leaving us feeling hungry and unsatisfied.
