Did You See This?

This video went viral yesterday, and we are sharing it because OMG!

First of all, who designed this slide? Second of all, why are they laughing so hard in the background?

Like - it's hilarious seeing it from our couch at home, but being there, this must have been terrifying to witness. No?

Moving on to headlines…

WOW Headlines:

There is a lot going on in the world of wellness (WOW) and it’s impossible to keep up. We searched the internet for interesting content and found our three favorites of the day.

Ready, set, go (insert Mario Kart start sound effect):

Food Fight: Europe Says No, US Says Uh-Oh!

So, Europe banned titanium dioxide from food 'cause it can mess with your DNA and maybe even lead to cancer 🚫.

But guess what? The FDA in the US is like, "Eh, sure, go ahead and sprinkle it in!"

So, be wary 'cause this sneaky ingredient can be lurking in your beloved frosted pop-tarts, coffee creamer, gum, and more.

Now, here's the real stumper: Why do companies have the audacity to keep using this stuff in US food when they make the same products without it in places where it's banned? Well, because they can I guess.

Enough is enough, my wellness warrior! It's time to stand up and demand cleaner, safer foods that aren't loaded with sketchy ingredients like titanium dioxide. How do we do this? Idk…

Oh, and a big shoutout to Cali for getting one step closer to banning this shady stuff, which could start Jan 2025.

Happy World Breastfeeding Week:

This year's theme is Let’s make breastfeeding at work, work.”

UNICEF and WHO are on a mission to boost breastfeeding support in ALL workplaces!

Let’s pump it up:

We need to make sure working moms have access to breaks and proper facilities to keep breastfeeding when they go back to work. Let's keep that milk flowing, ladies!

Ever pumped on a bathroom toilet at work? Yeah - not fun.

Oh, and paid leave? That's a must! All working parents and caregivers need sufficient time off to take care of their little ones.

From The Rock to Elmo: How Third Person Talk Can Level Up Your Thinking 🌟

Let's switch things up and exercise your mind. Talking about yourself in third person boosts judgment and reasoning. It's true but uncomfortable.

Check these famous illeists (they talk in the 3rd person): The Rock asked, "Can you smell what The Rock is cookin'?" 🤔

“Elmo loves you”- slightly creepy.

And Julius Caesar? He declared, "Caesar came, saw, conquered."

Now, imagine you're stuck in traffic and someone cuts you off. Instead of getting mad and saying, "You Asshole!" (which we've all done), say your name instead.

Something like this…

"Olivia is TICKED right now at this jerk."

By stepping outside of yourself and viewing the situation from a third-person perspective, you can clear that emotional fog and get a better handle on your bias.

So, join us and these famous illeists by giving it a try! Who knows, you might even surprise yourself with how much clearer your thoughts become. Maybe avoid saying it out loud in public 😉

Did You Know? Like Really Know…

Muscle mass starts to decline as early as 30? And after 60, it declines even faster - yikes! But don't worry, we've got your back (and your muscles, too)!

Instead of panicking, let's take action! Here are two things you can do to combat muscle loss:

  1. Pump up that muscle hypertrophy (increase in muscle mass)! Yup, resistance training is super important. Grab some weights or resistance bands and give it your all. Don't be scared to push yourself to get close to failure on your reps - it's the secret to fighting sarcopenia (AKA loss of muscle tissue) and holding on to your precious muscle mass.

  1. Don't forget about cardio! Brisk walking, jogging, or swimming could be your new best friends. Keep those muscles in shape and maintain overall fitness.

Bonus tip: Eating right is also essential for muscle health. So, let's make sure we're fueling up on the right nutrients

No need to throw in the towel - let's take charge and keep those muscles strong and healthy!

Today’s Top Workout Song on Spotify

Janie, our co-founder, doesn’t listen to music while working out. That’s kinda weird, no? Pretty sure she’s the only one. This inspired us to share the top workout song on Spotify. Give it a listen:
